Bodega
Rejadorada is registered in the Designation of Origin Toro. This
designation is located in the west of the autonomous region of Castilla
y León. It covers the southeast of the province of Zamora and some
natural regions of Valladolid. The surface area of the land governed
by the Toro D.O. has a total of 62,000 hectares, and 6200 are registered
in the Regulating Body, belonging to 1,200 registered wine growers.
The grape variety Tinta de Toro is the autochthonous variety par
excellence of this area.
The Duero River, the extreme dry continental climate influenced by
the Atlantic and the calcareous soil formed by sediments of sandstones,
clays, limestones and pudding stones give this area the ideal conditions
for the production of high quality wines. The annual rainfall, between
250 and 400mm/year, and the hours of sunshine, around 2.800 hours/year,
are perfect climate conditions for wine growing. |
